Infrared sensors are widely used, such as TV remote controls, anti-theft alarms and object counters. Here, we used infrared sensors (infrared LEDs) for object detection and proximity sensors for path tracking robots. The basic idea is to pass the infrared light through the IR LED, then be reflected by any obstacles in front and be received by the LED.
