Small AA batteries and button batteries used in electronic devices provide a terminal voltage of 1.5V and are usually rated at 500 mAh. As the battery discharges, its internal impedance increases and forms a voltage divider with the load, and the battery terminal voltage decreases. This would reduce the performance of the gadget, so we had to replace one of the batteries with a new battery.
