The Zachman framework is the world's first enterprise architecture theory founded by John Zachman in 1987. The Zachman framework is the enterprise ontology and the basic structure of the enterprise architecture. It provides a way to view and define the structure of the enterprise. Ontology is a two-dimensional classification framework, which reflects the intersection between two historical classifications. The first is the original question: what, how, when, who, where and why. The second is derived from the actualized concept of philosophy, which is to transform abstract concepts into instantiations.
