Aircraft Crash Fault Tree
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is a graphical tool to explore the causes of system-level failures. As shown in the attached diagram of Aircraft Crash Fault Tree, it uses boolean logic to combine a series of lower-level events and it is basically a top-down approach to identify the component-level failures that cause the system level failure to occur. By studying an Aircraft Crash Fault Tree, the team of engineers can improve safety engineering and reliability engineering. The FTA will help them to identify the best ways to reduce risk and to determine event rates of a safety accident or a particular system-level failure. Online or offline tools like EdrawMax can be used to create an Aircraft Crash Fault Tree by using gates and events (blocks). The two most commonly used gates in an FTA are AND or OR gates.
