Consciousness is everything that an animal or a being experiences. The origin and nature of these experiences are sometimes referred to as qualia. As per the image, consciousness refers to individual awareness of your unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations, and environments. At the same time, consciousness consists of four aspects: thinking, feeling, sensing, and intuiting. As the consciousness functions diagram suggests, thoughts and emotions have a profound effect on one another. Thoughts can trigger emotions and also serve as an appraisal of that emotion. From the neurological research, the sensory input always goes through the emotional centers of the brain before it reaches the frontal cortex.
