It should be noted here that NoSQL represents a different framework of databases that allows for high-performance, agile processing of information at a massive scale. As the service/middle-tier application layer diagram illustrates, the efficiency of NoSQL can be achieved because, unlike highly structured relational databases, NoSQL databases are unstructured in nature, trading off stringent consistency requirements for speed and agility. ETL lets the data destination to the transformation, eliminating the need for data staging.
