Pivotal HD Enterprise is a new Hadoop distribution by EMC Greenplum that includes a fully compliant SQL MPP database running on Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). A data scientist can use EdrawMax or EdrawMax Online to create a Pivotal HD Enterprise diagram for their usage. As shown in the below architecture diagram, Pivotal HD comes in the enterprise, database services, and a community edition for evaluation purposes. The main component of Pivotal is HAWQ and features: ANSI SQL, Distributed In-Memory Store, Query Transactions, Ingestion Processing, and Hadoop Driver Parallel with Compaction.
