Learning experience design (LX design) is the process of creating learning experiences that enable the learner to achieve the desired learning outcome in a human-centered and goal-oriented way. Learning experience design is rooted in a combination of several design disciplines with the field of learning. As the below learning experience design diagram suggests, a Learning Experience Design (LXD) uses the principles of UXD to improve and support eLearning outcomes while enhancing the learner's retention and application of the content. In the following diagram, learning experience refers to any interaction, course, program, or other experience in which learning takes place, whether it occurs in traditional academic settings or non-traditional settings, or whether it includes traditional education.
