Integer Exponents and Scientific Notation
This exercise graphic for integer exponents and scientific notation is a good review or practice assessment to test students’ understanding of exponents in scientific notation. There are two columns – one for multiplication and one for division and students have to compare different scientific notation concepts under each of these categories. Students will explain in the given boxes of this scientific graphic organizer how mantissa and exponents on power 10, vary for multiplications and divisions of scientific notation. They also explain the differences between multiplication and division in terms of when adjustments are made for correction of exponents and how corrections are made for the adjustment of exponents.
