Odysseus, or Ulysses in Latin, was the son of Laërtes and Anticlea, husband of Penelope, and father of Telemachus and Acusilaus. The below Odyssey character's family tree elaborate the connection of different family members with one another. Homer's divine genealogy is purely incidental, with family relationships being mentioned only in passing. The chart includes the gods as well as minor divinities, giants, and fabulous creatures. Where a name but no family is given, the individual is placed on the chart in the position indicated by Hesiod's Theogony. So, for example, Homer names both Atlas and Iapetos but does not give their genealogies. As Hesiod describes one as the son of the other, they are arranged as such on this chart but without any lines connecting them. A family tree is a type of chart or diagram representing generations of families and how they are linked throughout the years. A family tree can include names, birth dates, marriage dates, and pictures.
