1. Introduction

An aggregation is a process in which numbers are gathered for statistical purposes and are expressed as one number. This could be in the form of a total or an average. It should be noted here that in a vertical Stacked Bar chart, categories are represented as bars, as in a basic vertical Bar Chart, but the bars are composed of series that are "stacked" on top of each other, with each series representing its value. Therefore, the height of the entire stack represents the total of all series in that category.

As the above bar chart diagram represents, the stacked bar chart (aka stacked bar graph) extends the standard bar chart from looking at numeric values across one categorical variable to two. Each bar in a standard bar chart is divided into several sub-bars stacked end to end, each one corresponding to a level of the second categorical variable.

2. What is Stacked Bar Chart

The stacked bar chart (also known as a stacked bar graph) is a type of bar chart that looks at numeric values across two categorical variables. A standard bar chart has a number of sub-bars stacked end to end, each of which corresponds to a level of the second categorical variable.
