A flowchart depicts a technique, system, or computer algorithm graphically. They're commonly used to document, evaluate, plan, improve, and communicate often complex processes in clear, basic diagrams in a range of fields. Flowcharts are diagrams that use rectangles, diamonds, ovals, and maybe other shapes to represent the type of step being taken. They also use linking arrows in order to indicate the flow and sequence. Flowcharts can be so simple, just like manually-drawn diagrams. They can also be as complicated as the computer-drawn diagrams can be, which show multiple steps. Each step is laid down in a boxed rectangular format, with an arrow pointing to the next operation.
