The Network Bandwidth flow diagram shows the wide range of network and latency issues. As per the image below, the maximum amount of data transmitted over an internet connection in a given amount of time. Bandwidth is often mistaken for internet speed when it is the volume of information that can be sent over a connection in a measured amount of time – calculated in megabits per second (Mbps). Latency measures how long it takes for the data to reach its destination. There is a close relationship between bandwidth and latency. In simpler words, latency refers to the time it takes for data to travel from one point to another.
