568-A Wiring

The T568A and T568B schemes are the two that are available. In a modern data network, they perform and function identically from a practical aspect. Simply make sure that both ends of your cable have the same color scheme and you will be OK. "B" is my personal favorite. Why? I became lethargic and refused to memorize "A." I might have given you a different response fifteen years ago, but things change. The termination standards T568A and T568B are utilized by Internet backbone infrastructure, Internet providers, and even individuals and organizations. The green and orange pairs are the only substantial differences between these two pin-to-pair allocations. In the cable, these two sets are switched. Despite the fact that they are switched, they are still direct or "straight through" connections.
