JMA designed guest room concepts for JW Marriott's refurbishment of a Houston tower with historic significance at 806 Main Street. While working within the restrictions of a historic building with constrained dimensions, the designs seek solutions for luring weekend leisure travelers to a community in transition. In architecture and building engineering, a floor plan is a scale drawing that represents the interactions between rooms, spaces, traffic patterns, and other physical features at one level of a structure. Measurements are typically drawn between the walls to illustrate room sizes and wall lengths. Floor layouts may also include information about fixtures such as sinks, water heaters, and furnaces. Floor drawings may incorporate construction comments like finishes, construction methods, or electrical device symbols.
