My life as a genogram. A genogram is a graphical depiction of familial ties that demonstrates the quality and closeness of links, as well as trends over generations. Genograms may be used as a visual aid to inspire young people to talk about their families, and they can be viewed as a "work in progress" that evolves over time, enabling the young person to tell their narrative at their own speed. This allows the worker to respond to portions of the tale more compassionately when and if the young person feels comfortable enough to disclose.
