The West Wing of the White House is the hub of White House activity. The West Wing is home to the President's Oval Office, his executive staff's offices, the Cabinet Room, the Roosevelt Room, and the James S. The Executive Residence is the central building of the White House complex, situated between the East and West Wings. As the actual "house" part of the White House, it is the most recognizable part of the complex. President Theodore Roosevelt began a major renovation of the White House in 1902, including moving the President's offices from the Second Floor of the Residence to the newly constructed temporary Executive Office Building.
