Each work item type is aligned with a workflow in this Azure DevOps Workflow Diagram, which allows you to track work status from creation to completion. You can add custom states to most work item types to support your business and team processes (WITs). You can customize the Azure DevOps Workflow Diagram of any work item type (WIT) by hiding inherited states and adding custom states. Inherited conditions differ depending on which system process — Agile, Basic, Scrum, or CMMI — you used to create your custom process. Each WIT's default workflow defines between two and four States.
