A Wireless Metropolitan Area Network is primarily governed by a single entity, such as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), a government agency, or another large corporation. To use Wireless Metropolitan Area Network, a user must obtain authorized access from the providers, as access is restricted to official users/subscribers only. It is a cellular-tower connection on an enterprise network. It can also function as a WiFi hotspot. Fixed wireless is used in this network, which saves a significant amount of money per year. Backhaul can also use Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), but wireless connections are faster and less expensive than traditional fiber optics connection
