This TOGAF Architecture Development Method describes transitioning from the TOGAF Foundation Architecture to an organization-specific architecture while leveraging elements of the TOGAF Foundation Architecture and other relevant architectural components and building blocks. The ADM is a generic architecture development method that addresses most system and organizational requirements. However, modifying or extending the ADM to meet specific needs is frequently necessary. Before applying the ADM to a particular situation, one of the tasks will be to review the ADM and, if necessary, tailor it to the circumstances of the enterprise in question. This activity may result in an ADM that is unique to the organization.
