Tim Burton produced and directed The Nightmare Before Christmas movie , a 1993 American stopmotion animated musical dark fantasy film directed by Henry Selick in his feature directorial debut. It follows Jack Skellington, the King of Halloween Town, as he stumbles upon Christmas Town and plots to take over the holiday. Danny Elfman wrote the songs and composed the score, as well as providing Jacks singing voice. Chris Sarandon, Catherine OHara, William Hickey, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Glenn Shadix, and Ed Ivory round out the main voice cast. Burton wrote The Nightmare Before Christmas as a poem in 1982 while working as an animator at Walt Disney Productions.
