Agile teams, also known as Scrum teams, use a burndown chart to track the amount of work completed and the amount of work remaining for a given time period, also known as a Sprint. This easytounderstand visual aid is used by Agile teams to track the amount of work completed in a given iteration and how far along the project is in relation to the deadline. It is common practice for teams to use the burndown chart as a means of forecasting the expected date of project completion. The status of their sprint can be seen on burndown charts as well. Teams are able to identify bottlenecks in the process after reviewing the burndown chart and come up with creative solutions to overcome them, ultimately producing more meaningful results.
