One subset of Business Process Modeling Notation is used to specify the steps in a business process diagram, which depicts a workflow. A straightforward process represents the activities that occur exclusively within a single department, business, or another unit of analysis. Workflow processes are another name for these procedures. They are known as service orchestration in the world of web development. Using swimlane notation presupposes that the entire system will occur in a single pool, which is why it isn't depicted there. Even in the simplest procedures, different lanes may signify different roles or internal participants.
