This Food Supply Chain program is concerned with processes describing how food from a farm ends on our tables is referred to as a food supply chain or food system. Production, processing, distribution, consumption, and disposal are all processes. Food supply chains transport food from producers to consumers in a domino-like fashion. In contrast, the money consumers pay for food goes to people who work at various stages along the food supply chain in the opposite direction. This Food Supply Chain Diagram clearly illustrates the concept of a food supply chain or food system, which can help us better understand and plan the food supply chain to improve food safety and efficiency.
