This process flow diagram represents the working of a power plant that can be used to generate electricity. This power plant's basic principle is an ideal Rankine cycle coupled with regeneration which enhances the efficiency of the power plant. The fuel is first combusted into steam. This steam is directly fed to the high-pressure turbine to produce electricity. The pressure drop is significant but the exhaust steam can be further processed. The turbine rotates the generator shaft to produce electricity. The exit steam is then cooled down and pumped to heaters again.
