As the four different bar charts suggest, a vertical bar chart shows comparisons among discrete categories. One axis of the chart shows the specific categories being compared, and the other axis represents a measured value. In Horizontal Bar Graphs, the data categories are shown on the vertical axis, and the data values are shown on the horizontal axis. In a vertical Stacked Bar chart, categories are represented as bars, as in a basic vertical Bar Chart, but the bars are composed of series that are "stacked" on top of each other, with each series representing its value. Lastly, in a stacked horizontal bar, each horizontal bar in the graph represents a data category divided into subcategories using different colors within the same bar.
