What components make up a transmission system? What happened to the drive sprocket, differential, or torque converter? There are a lot of pieces in an automatic transmission, and it's not easy to understand at first. The torque converter, planetary gearset, pump, clutches, bands, sensors, valve body, and, last but not least, the transmission fluid, often known as ATF, are the essential components of an automatic gearbox.
