A genogram is a useful tool for understanding the important individuals and relationships in a client's life. It can also assist us in identifying trends within those relationships as well as generational patterns that affect our client. A genogram's graphical form allows it to easily display difficulties and concerns that could not otherwise be discussed in a non-threatening manner.
