The Asian section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification served as asian world cup qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Qatar, for Asian Football Confederation member nations (AFC). Aside from Qatar (who qualified automatically as hosts), AFC teams had a total of 4.5 slots (4 direct slots and 1 interconfederation playoff slot) in the final tournament. The qualification process consisted of four rounds, the first two of which also served as qualification for the AFC Asian Cup in 2023. Despite qualifying as hosts, Qatar participated in these rounds in order to qualify for the Asian Cup. The first round was supposed to serve as a qualifier for the canceled 2020 AFC Solidarity Cup.
