The FIFA Arab Cup brings together 16 teams from across the Arab world to compete. The event gives competitors and spectators alike a chance to experience the spirit of Qatar and the iconic stadiums that will host the World Cup in 2022. The tournament phase featured 16 teams, seven of which advanced from the qualifying round; all 23 teams competing were affiliated with either the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) or the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Eight of the 16 teams had also competed in the 2012 Arab Cup; no team was making their first appearance at the Arab Cup. The 32 finals matches were held in six venues that will also host the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
