In order to fairly serve all applicants, FIFA instituted a draw process in which tickets were allocated when the number of applications exceeded the stadium capacity. Ticket applications were accepted through the official tournament website. Fans in Qatar, the United States, England, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates contributed significantly to those sales. It should be noted that there is a separate quota for domestic and international fans. The grand final tickets were, predictably, in high demand.
