Wireframes bridge the gap between rough sketches and the first physical version of your product. Without the distraction of colors and copy, they help you plan the layout and user interaction patterns. No unnecessary visual flair, such as gradients or dropdowns, should be required to guide users along the proposed path. Researching usage patterns and user journeys is much less crucial than gathering feedback with a wireframe before moving on to a highfidelity mockup or prototype. The aesthetic qualities of the onscreen elements are less of a priority than the functionality and user experience with a wireframe.
